Juneteenth stands as a significant moment in American history, marking the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the Confederacy on June 19, 1865. It's a day that commemorates the end of slavery and reflects the continuous journey towards equality and justice in the United States. Each year, the spirit of Juneteenth ignites reflections on the resilience and strength of those who fought for liberation and reminds us of the ongoing pursuit of a future that embodies freedom, equality, and justice for all.

This year, the vibrant community of Acres Homes in Houston will play host to the 15th Annual Juneteenth Parade and Jubilee Festival, organized by the esteemed Black Heritage Society. Scheduled for June 15, 2024, the event promises to be a grand spectacle of unity and progress, beginning at 10 am at the Acres Home Multi-Purpose Center, located at 6719 West Montgomery Road, Houston, TX 77091.

The parade route will wind its way through the community, culminating at the historic Greater Zion Missionary Church, a landmark of cultural significance in Houston. The procession aims to symbolize unity and progress, weaving together the fabric of Houston's diverse communities.
