Each jump is measured and the crowds go wild as some of the dogs maintain jumps of 22-24 feet as they compete in Extreme Vertical, Speed Retrieve and Big Air events.

The Ensemble Theatre, the oldest and largest professional African American theatre in the Southwest, welcomes acclaimed actress Ella Joyce for a special performance on Sunday, May 10, at 5:00 p.m., for the 9th Annual Heart of the Theatre subscription drive celebration at the Wortham Theater.
The Retablos exhibit is a continuation of the guest curator series showcasing private Houston collections. The works on exhibit provide an insight into the art of the retablo, but more importantly these paintings are windows into understanding traditions associated with sacred spaces, ritual practices, values, and regional customs found throughout the Americas.
After listening to the “Unspoken” CD by artist Tonex (pronounced “toe-nay”), lets just say I was thrown off twice. First by his CD cover; a picture of him with a piece of black tape covering his mouth leaves you questioning the type of music you are about to let penetrate your ears. Could this really be Christian music, one might ask? Well, yes it is and that is where I got my second surprise, not only was it Christian music but it was so soulful and mellow-flowing with an alternative twist all at the same time that I found myself playing the CD right before I went to sleep and rockin’ it in my car with the windows down on a warm and sunny day.

Before 2005, Mike Jones was basically unknown, but he did have a dream. He had a dream of being an entertainment conglomerate. By 2009, his dream had come to fruition. Being an entertainer was a God-given talent, but that wasn’t enough for the tenacious Jones. After making a few recordings, he set out to become his own promoter by planting seeds about himself in the music industry.
Having expanded last summer to accommodate demand, Houston’s most popular non-profit performing arts summer camp is able to accept a record number of students while keeping classes small.

A history is written about the historic Riverside General Hospital, one of the few hospitals in America owned and operated by African-American physicians.
