The Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo World’s Championship Bar-b-que Contest Winners Announced, New Award Named
The 2010 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, Feb. 25 – Feb. 27, led thousands of barbecue fans to the sweet aroma of good Texas barbecue in Reliant Park. Visitors were treated to barbecue in the The Chuck Wagon and entertained at the free music stage by fan favorite acts like Casey Donahew, Gary P. Nunn, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Todd Fritsch, with Better Than Ezra closing the contest tonight.
Nearly 250 teams participated. This year’s contest also featured a new event, the Dutch Oven Dessert Contest, with 88 teams that participated.

Final World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest attendance numbers will be released Sunday, Feb. 28.
The Show is a Section 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to benefiting youth, supporting education, and facilitating better agricultural practices through exhibitions and presentation. Since the Show’s beginning in 1932, more than $250 million has been committed to the youth of Texas. The 2010 Show runs March 2 – 21.
