Roland Martin Named One of “Power 150″ by EBONY Magazine for Third Year

For the third year in a row, Roland Martin has been named one of the “Power 150” by EBONY magazine. Martin, a nationally award-winning journalist, is part of an elite list that includes President Obama, Chris Rock, the Williams sisters, Rev. Al Sharpton, LeBron James, Mo’Nique, Queen Latifah and Wanda Sykes*. The Power 150 Dec./Jan. issue is on newsstands now.
Martin is a multi-faceted journalist, reporting on many different platforms including, television, radio, newspapers and online. As the host and Managing Editor for TV One’s “Washington Watch with Roland Martin,” he brings a credible new voice to Sunday morning news with a one-hour program focused on issues critical to African Americans. “Washington Watch with Roland Martin” airs every Sunday at 11AM ET and 5PM ET on TV ONE.
He is also a CNN contributor, appearing on a variety of shows, including Campbell Brown, The Situation Room, Anderson Cooper 360, Lou Dobbs Tonight, and many others. In October 2008 he joined the Tom Joyner Morning Show as senior analyst.
Martin has recently made waves in the media with high profile interviews including Vice President Joe Biden and Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele on TV ONE and General Colin Powell on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Earlier this year, he was named “Broadcaster of the Year” Award by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.
The EBONY Power 150 list, in their first-ever Celebration issue, was specifically created to usher in the New Year by saluting trailblazers who’ve made significant contributions to the Black community within fields ranging from business to science and technology to education and a host of other key disciplines.
