The Houston Airport System Drives for the Green
The Houston Airport System (HAS) and the Houston Interfaith Chapels invite you to the 18th Annual IAH Charity Classic Golf Tournament on Wednesday, October 14 at the Cypresswood Golf Club located at 21602 Cypresswood Dr. in Spring. The tournament is a major fundraiser for the Houston Airport Interfaith Chapels that provide a place of comfort, meditation, worship and aid for the traveling public, which are located at William P. Hobby Airport’s baggage claim area and George Bush Intercontinental Airport’s (IAH) Terminal C, near gate C-33 with a second location in Terminal D slated to be opened by the end of the year.
“The community and interfaith chapels at our airport are a safe haven for those who are in need. They have served us well, but it requires financial support from all of us to keep them in operation,” says Council Member Mike Sullivan. That’s why I am supporting this fundraising golf tournament and urge others to do so as well.”
“The HAS Interfaith Chapels are making a significant difference in people’s lives,” says Brett Jones, Interfaith Chapel Chaplain. “You can see it in the faces of the people — from the weary traveler thankful for a place of respite and meditation, to the heartbroken mother receiving the military casket home, to the exuberant faces of families who have reunited in the chapel, and to the great employees of the airport system and airlines. This chapel is a great benefit to all. A great, deep, heartfelt thanks to the sponsors of the tournament and to the participants who make this great place exist!”
