25th Annual State Farm Labor Day Classic
On Saturday, September 5, 2009, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the 25th Annual State Farm Labor Day Classic at Reliant Stadium. Festivities began when NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson presented the game ball and help conduct the coin toss. The first touchdown of the game was made by Texas Southern University’s (TSU) De’Markus Washington after intercepting a pass from Prairie View A&M University’s (PVAMU) Jay Bluford. Three plays later Bluford would throw the ball to teammate Gabriel Osaze-Ediae who would make the score 7-6. PVAMU’s Brady Faggard would tie it all up. Panthers Yavarian Richardson, Renoldo Revuelta, Anthony Weeden, Brandon Bell, Michael Jason, Lester Butler, Chris Ford, and Max Sencherey would all play their part along with other members of the PVAMU football team to claim victory over the TSU tigers. The ending score was 17-7. This win makes the third year that PVAMU has defeated TSU. Who will claim bragging rights next year? Mark your calendars for the Labor Day Classic 2010.
