HWA’s 2009 Saluate to African American Doctors

On Tuesday, February 24, 2009, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the 2009 Salute to Black History Month luncheon at the Power Center. Hosted by the African American Wellness Committee of the Houston Wellness Association, the members honored African Americans who are “doing good by doing wellness.” The 2009 honorees were Judith B. Craven, MD, MPH; Glover O. Johnson, MD; Ronald Johnson, DDS; Lovell Jones, PhD; and Lois J. Moore. A representative from Texas Children’s Hospital Project Medical Home received the inaugural institutional honoree award. All honorees received proclamations from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Mayor Bill White and the Houston Wellness Association.
